About Gina Mulligan
Dear Guest,
At five feet tall, strangers must think I’m travel-size because I’m often stopped in the Southwest Airlines aisle and asked to take the middle seat. I agreed once and spent the entire four-hour trip without an armrest. Discomfort aside, I love to travel and am most inspired by historic Jewish sites that find their way into my writing. I’m also a sucker for puppy videos, am active in my local Chabad, and enjoy baking what I shouldn’t eat.
One of my favorite years was spent completing an MA in Creative Writing Prose Fiction at the University of East Anglia. Not only did I live in Norwich, England, I met incredible writers and learned so much about the craft. The only downside was the cloudy weather. I currently live in Sacramento, CA and grew up San Diego, CA, arguably the best weather in the country. It was a good thing I like tea.
Along with 250,000 women in the U.S. every year, in 2009 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. My journey was eased by caring family and friends who wrote me cards and letters. To encourage other women going through treatment, I started a charity called Girls Love Mail. You may have seen the charity on The NBC Nightly News, The Steve Harvey Show or in People.com, Today.com, Woman’s Day magazine, or O, The Oprah Magazine.
The goal of Girls Love Mail is to give the gift of hand-written letters of encouragement to women going through breast cancer treatment. Since its founding, we have encouraged over 280,000 women. We’ve also published a beautiful gift book of 100 inspiring and heartfelt letters called DEAR FRIEND: Letters of Encouragement, Humor, and Love for Women with Breast Cancer. Letters are a precious gift. Anyone with a story to share or desire to encourage a woman can write a letter. Please visit Girls Love Mail for all the details on how you can help.
Thank you for stopping by and please let me know if you have comments or questions. You can also sign up for my newsletter for writing tips, free short stories, fun travel info, and book news.
Best,
Gina

Harvey Klinger is currently submitting Gina's new novel The Petticoat Inspectors.
The Petticoat Inspectors, is BROOKLYN meets HARLOTS. Set in 1903, a young Jewish woman breaks from her conservative roots to become one of the first female U.S. immigration inspectors at Ellis Island. But when she discovers a sex trafficking ring, she must work with a once-trafficked brothel runner in a dangerous scheme that challenges both women to face their dark pasts—a layered story that explores fate, sisterhood, and finding hope in darkness.
